Matt: Congrats on making the Team for London, how does it feel?
Scott: I think more than anything it has made me realise how close the games are, when I made the decision to attempt to make London it was 4 years away, it’s only 76 days away!
Matt: You had run the qualifying times already and were basically assured a spot in the team, must be a weight off your shoulders now that it is official?
Scott: It is to a certain extent, but I had been looking past the selection process and concentrating on London for a long time now, so I think that the weight is still on the shoulders until I run in London
Matt: You had a race on the Gold Coast last weekend, what was your focus for this race?
Scott: This will be my second race for the season, well if you can call it a race, it is more of a training session, I am at a stage now where this is good practice, lining up beside other athletes and the pressure of competition, I will be focusing on running like I do in training, like there is no one else in the race to make sure I execute
Matt: You have been in a training camp with the team, what has the mood be like during the camp?
Scott: Focus, everyone knows that there is a job to be done and everyone is making sure that they do everything possible to ensure their best performance in London.
Matt: What will your training involve from now till the Paralympics?
Scott: I am actually not 100% sure, we will start to more away from the strength training and move into more specific training and speed work, I have the luxury of a great coach which means I don’t have to think about everything and just do the programs that she sets and I will be very well prepared
Matt: What are you favourite post-comp foods?
Scott: I don’t really have anything in particular but I do love a good steak.
Matt: Do you use any supplementation?
Scott: No, all natural!
Matt: First 5 songs we would find on your iPod?
- Scott:
- 1.About a girl, Nirvana.
- 2. The Acoustic song, Red jump suit apparatus,
- 3. Adams song Blink 182,
- 4. Aeroplane red hot chilli peppers,
- 5.Africa Toto
Matt: Do you have a favourite sport/team you support?
Scott: Canterbury bulldogs in the NRL, because my uncle played with the club for 10 years
Matt: Scott's top 5 style tips for a night out?
Scott: I think I need to be getting style tips then giving them!
Matt: Anything you would like to say to the fans?
Scott: Thanks for the support, I really appreciate it. Make the effort to follow London Paralympic games, it will be the best games in history!
