Caley Reece - EPIC Raw 6

Matt: You are fighting on Saturday night against a girl from Thailand in the 58kg division, do you know much about her?cales

Caley: Usually I know something about my opponent but this time I have absolutely no idea. I just spoke to WMC in Thailand and told them I needed an experienced girl. It's very expensive bringing Europeans all the time. Most Thai's fight similar and I've fought a lot of Thai's so I know what to expect. I think. Ha

Matt: Do you tend to change the way you fight depending on the opponent or do you just always have a game plan that focuses on your strengths?

Caley: I usually stick to a similar style and I know what my strengths are so focus on them. Usually I know a bit about my opponent so have a game plan that I know will work against them and then do my best to execute it.

Matt: This is your 5th fight for the year, how do you cope fighting so often?

Caley: Yes this is my 5th fight this year. I usually like to have about 10. It's not really a matter of coping because I love what I do. It's just a matter of looking after myself, training smart and maintaining my fitness and skills.

Matt: With fighting so often you must have a pretty supportive team behind you?

Caley: I've got the best team I could ask for. I've got amazing pad holders, Daz and I've been working a lot this time with Chris White. I've also got some amazing people outside of the gym that help with me with other aspects of my training also. It doesn't just stop with Thai boxing. If you want to be the best at something, you have got a lot of bases to cover!

Matt: EPIC Raw is your fight promotion, do you find it hard fighting on your own event with all the other things need to do to organize the event?

Caley: Yes it can get a little stressful in fight week when I'm focusing on the fight and when I'm cutting weight but Daz is very good and makes sure that he takes most of the work load during this time. It still doesn't stop me thinking and wondering if everything is going smoothly. It can also get very stressful when there are pullouts or changes to the fight card close to the show as airfares need to be cancelled, new opponents found, visas done, new airfares paid for...the list is endless. People don't realise what goes into putting a show together.

Matt: What has your training involved for this fight, did you get over the cold mornings?

Caley: I came back from Thailand a bit heavier than normal so I've had to incorporate a lot of morning runs to get my weight down. Thai boxing training is still the same. This fight is at 58kg which is the lightest I've been in a while so I'm on target for my 57kg defence in October. I actually enjoyed the cold mornings. Of course it's hard not feeling your face when you run because of the cold, but that's a little daily challenge I like ;).

Matt: Caley Reece's top five tips for gorgeous blonde hair?

Caley: Haha funnily enough I don't do anything to my hair! I get some foils every 6 months but I'm naturally blonde so I don't have to upkeep it by dying it all the time. Usually it's shoved into a bun at training and throughout the day! haha. I'd like to be invisible.

Matt: Favourite outfit?

Caley: Casual outfit is definitely shorts, singlet and thongs! Beach girl 100%

Matt: Anything you would like to say to your fans/ supporters?

Caley: I would like to say thanks to those that continually support me. They know who they are. My trainers , nick from PUNISH FIGHTGEAR and The Sports Vault for helping promote me!
